Ya, it was a very amazing match Canelo vs GGG 2. There was a little margin between score to take a lead and win. By the little margins (114-114, 115-113×2), Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2) defeat WBA and WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-1-1) and gave him the first loss of his career.
There are so many parameters to judge fight but the only reason which is very powerful, strong, and conquers is their fighting strategy and timing. The way they punched each other was very fantastic. These two men punched each other in 12 different rounds with more power and tricks. Before that, they fought last time in September 2017.
Alvarez was pushing Golovkin in starting and drop a bucket of punches on him to make him down. He pushed him till middle rounds. Golovkin was targeting short area while Alvarez was attacking the chest.
When it was time for last four rounds, Golovkin punched Canelo heavily once and throw him out of the ring. To the new champion’s credit, Canelo took the punches better than any of Golovkin’s previous opponents. Canelo didn’t just take the shots, he somehow found a way to fire back his own punches just to keep Golovkin honest.
In about 7 rounds judges thought that Canelo will lift the cup and taste the victory. Two of the three judges decided that Canelo will be the leader, but the third judge gave a tie option on the board.
It’s hard for many to put aside their feelings about Canelo’s failed drug tests, so plenty of fight fans and others were rooting for Golovkin in the rematch.
When the fight was over, Golovkin left the ring and refused to grant HBO’s Max Kellerman a post-fight interview. The visually dejected fighter was seen going into his dressing room with a damaged face on both sides and left to think back on the first loss of his pro career.
